I was out to feed Rowdy some hay. He is my mothers brown quarter horse. In a way he is like a little brother.
The owners son came back and I had parked in the driveway. He had to get past me so I put the car in reverse. I drove too fast and backed my electric mirror into a wooden post. Needless to say the post won. My electric mirror is now in pieces. It can be put together. But it will require the right skills, tools and patience. For now I have a new manual mirror for a 1985 SR5 Toyota Corolla.

It doesn't take long once you remove the inner cover of the old mirror. Then unclip the electrical plug and remove three screws with a Philips screw driver. The remnants of the old mirror are taken out and the new mirror is ready to be installed.
The mirror was bought off eBay from costautoparts for $25. The part was missing three nuts to finish the installation. The mirror was made by THM Taiwan and they sent it without the nuts. Ace hardware had the correct nuts in stock.
I chose the nylon insert nut because I like how I don't have to retighten them. Install and tighten the nuts and you're done. You won't get pulled over and given a ticket for $125 like I was;-\
I had no luck when I looked for a website that would tell me which nuts I needed to install my mirror. I hope this helps whomever reads this.
